It's pretty irrelevant to announce my holiday in Australia since I'm going back home tomorrow, but, well, an update's an update I suppose.
I've been in Gold Coast for about...5 days now? Yeah. It's just my mum and I on this trip since my brothers couldn't make it and none of my friends were able to follow. It's been pretty cool so far; I went to Movie World and Sea World with the special VIP card deal thing. I wanted to go to Dreamworld as well but mum said it wasn't really worth it since it was part of another deal which didn't have any other attractions we liked. It'd be more worth it with more people, I suppose.
Mum started getting little aches and pains after a couple of rides on Lethal Weapon (in Movie World) so she stopped going on rides since she was worried about getting injured when there's no one to drive the car or take care of her properly. I went on the rest of the rides on my own, but I had loads of fun! My favourites were the Superman Escape and Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster in Movie World and the Jet Escape in Sea World. I also loved looking at the penguins and dolphins at Sea World! We also saw a polar bear; he was adorable! Such a lazy thing, haha!
I also saw sharks and--oh speaking of which, I have successfully bought a shark plush toy! I got him at Carrara Markets, if I'm not mistaken. He was 20 bucks so mum was a little skeptical but he was the only one left and I thought he looked rather dashing so, I bought him. Which was good, because when I went to Sea World a few days later the shark plushies they had just weren't as lovely as little Fassy, so I felt even happier about getting him when I did.
That didn't mean I didn't buy plushies at Sea World, but more on that later.
The only place in the resort we're in that has internet access is the rec room (which is connected to the children's room) so mum and I have been spending time in here daily. The wi-fi password is printed out in this little receipt printer in the children's room so being the lazy people we are, we usually just sit in the children's room. During which my mother has been the victim of various children's life stories while I scroll along on tumblr. It's really quite amusing, to be honest with you.
I've got to go soon since the guy is going to close the room up for the night. I'll probably make another post when I get home on Saturday--maybe with pictures too. No promises though.
Oh man I haven't read Erik/Charles fics in a week all I've been reading is this really depressing novel called Giovanni's Room by James Baldwin (it's about a man in a love affair with another man I think you can understand why I bought this book) and even then I've stopped reading it because do I really need more depressing ships in my life
I'll probably finish reading it on the plane/in the car and silently cry my eyes out
So unless I unfortunately perish in a plane/car crash or suddenly become unbearably frustrated with my mother that I run off to Sea World and dunk my head into the shark tank, I'll see you all soon!
